FAQ
Got a question?
Want to know what others want to know ;)?
Ideally you’d drop us a line by email.
Or you could send us a text.”
But you could also scroll down for our FAQ…
I’ve heard that you had a Pink Parents Group?
We do. Quite a few of us have children, but at the moment we don’t have many parents of very young children – and the older ones rarely want to hang out with their mums!
So as it stands we don’t have regular events specifically for gay parents, but a) we are happy to organise one for you and b) many of our events are family-friendly and your youngsters are more than welcome to come along.
If you need specific advice… our members have a lot of experience between them, from bringing up children in a lesbian environment to the effects mums who are “coming out” late(r) in life may experience with their children.
We are always happy to listen or have a chat!
Do you organise sports events?
Well, not exactly races and matches. We do, however, meet for games of rounders at the beach or in the park, usually accompanied by a picnic or a barbecue. We have been seen playing a bit of footie there, too!
Furthermore there’s rollerskating, bowling and walks – and we’re currently in the process of organising a rock climbing session at Basildon Sporting Village and there are several members who are keen on having a go-karting session this year.
All these events are quite popular and you are always welcome to take part or just come along, watch, and enjoy the social atmosphere.
Can I bring kids/ dogs/ friends along?
Kids – see above. Usually yes. Dogs – it depends on the venue… but usually yes.
Friends – it depends if the event is “members only” or not. If they are friends who may be interested in joining the group (ladies over 18 who identify lesbian or bi) they will most definitely be welcome to come along for an event prior to joining the group if they have been invited by a member.
How can we contact you?
